All we ever knew,
Thought that we should of had.
Never a loose idea,
Always one to see it through.

Load up and run it out,
Speed up, and spend it fast.
No ties, forgotten lies.
How could we crash?

But we didn't outsmart them all,
Standing back we stood without a flaw.
With nothing left to do and our backs against the wall,
We'll shoot and scream till dawn.

River was fast to his feet,
Never one to admit defeat.
Got caught by a stray,
His blood it sprayed.

Strained, we sat breathless,
The "wasps" they sang endless.
Intentions clear,
They intend to end us here.

But we didn't outsmart them all,
Standing back we stood without a flaw.
With nothing left to do and our backs against the wall,
We'll shoot and scream till dawn.

The count continued to grow,
My ankles soaked.
Pride ran red,
I watched it spread.

Slowly running towards the fall,
Some parts of them followed along.
"We need to jump now".
Pray the rocks don't kill us all.

But we didn't outsmart them all,
Standing back we stood without a flaw.
With nothing left to do and our backs against the wall,
We'll shoot and scream till dawn.

I caught the end of the charge,
And three rounds to the back.
Managed to escape the bridge,
But knew my body would soon quit.

Now floating on my oldest friend,
It could have never sunk in,
Still floating on unflawed, beyond the law.
"We were almost gods".

But we didn't outsmart them all,
Standing back we stood without a flaw.
With nothing left to do and our backs against the wall,
We'll shoot and scream till dawn.
